The STEAM Fashion program is a collaborative 4-6 week program for communities of color, Black, LGBTQ+ communities of most ages that meets virtually and in-person. The program is focused on the intersections of science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM), fashion, and health and wellness. The attendees learn to construct clothing or other items using STEAM concepts to explore identity development, self-esteem and confidence building, communication, leadership and entrepreneurial skills, thus creating a potential source of income through these new skills.

Working with Prevention Meets Fashion…

…as a STEAM instructor was life-changing in so many ways. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, trying something new, and showed me the difference that can be made within our community. I met some awesome people who showed up each week to learn something new and scary to them as well.
